David Hastings 5-4-5-4              18

Daniel Rusin          10-10-11-ns             44

Leon Edge      11-12-12-ns         48

Leon sailed the only 4.7 and in the light wind was always the last, but he hung in for all the first three races.

Daniel sailed the radial laser and is getting more experience.

Alex had a really good day as his first day out sailing with us.

Claire was sailing a 420 or she probably would be a lot closer to the top.

Nicole sailing a 420 was just one point ahead of Claire.

Leah was the first youth Laser and sailing a radial.

Cameron had the 420 going and with time correction jumped to second place in the first race.

Sam dropped out of the last race when it was so slow and home was closer than the finish.

David Hasting joined us for Saturday and will try to make it back next week.

David Chapin was late for the first race and won the other three.

Vince got three threes and a second.   His best weekend.

Rob Continues to led our group.  Good work, Rob.

Laser finishes for September 28 and 29, 2013     Saturday short courses with youth and Sunday with “big boats”.

David Chapin 2-1-1-1-1+1-1-1-1            10

Rob Krentel    1-2-2-2-2+4-2-3-3            21

Jerry Beck       3-4-3-3-3+2-3-2-2            25

Vince Renzoni 4-5-6-5-4+3-4-4-4           39

Claire Epaillard  5-7-4-6-ns+ns                52

Bailey Verkaik  420  ns-6-5-4-ns+ns       55

Daniel Rusin       6-8-7-7-ns+ns               58

Sam Chapin      ns-3-nf-ns-ns-ns+ns       63

Nicole Tullo 420  ns-nf-ns-ns-ns+ns      70

We had a separate start for Optis and lost the times so no time correction or our youth would show up a lot better.

We had a lot of wind that probably kept Nicole and Kaitlin from finishing races.  The wind chased Sam in but everyone else hung in there.

Dan is really doing well now.

Bailey managed to sail the 420 into 4th without a time correction.  Some job.

Claire was our first youth again as well as the first woman.

Vince sailed in all the races and beat Rob in the first race with “big boats “on Sunday.

Jerry Beck was third on Saturday, but moved into second on Sunday.

Rob slipped a little on Sunday but was the only one to beat David in a race on the weekend.

David won 8 of the 9 races.  Somehow just a little faster than the rest.

Laser finishes for September 14 and 15, 2013

Rob Krentel    1-2+1-4-2-1-2-3         16

Dave Chapin      ns+2-1-1-2-1-1        23

Vince Renzoni 4-4+4-3-5-4-3-4         30

Craig Yates          ns+ns-2-4-5-5-2      45

Chris Nagy        3-1+ns                         46

Marc Solal    ns-6+4-5-nf-ns-ns-ns    46

Claire Epaillard 2-3+ns                         47

Luke Yates      ns+ns-ns-3-3-4-ns        51

Bailey Verkaik  5-5+ns                          52

Daniel Rusin     6-9+ns                          57

Nicole Tullo       8-7+ns                         57

Mathew Smith   7-8+ns                        57

Christa Bray       9-10+ns                       61

First time out for Christa.  Now she knows the way around--- look out.

Mathew is hanging in there. He got bumped by Nicole because she beat him in the last race.

Nicole is enjoying sailing the 420.

Daniel is climbing up the ladder.  Look at that 6.  The middle of the fleet.

Bailey is number three of the youth.

Luke came out with his dad on Sunday and sailed three of the six races and had three good finishes in that group.

Claire was just one point behind Chris for the top youth.

Marc is our heavy weather guy and slow getting out in the light wind.  He should have strayed out on Sunday as the wind got stronger.  Sorry you missed that, Marc.

Chris Nagy is our top Youth again and he beat the big boys on Saturday.

Craig Yates came with Luke and sailed with us on Sunday.  He had two seconds and a couple of over the line earlies.  An exciting day for him.

Vince is gradual working his way up.  Notice the two 3s on Sunday.

David Chapin tried to sail the Scot on Saturday and then came to show us how do the Laser on Sunday.

Rob is still top dog and our Fleet Captain.

Laser finishes for August 17 and 18, 2013   Corrected time finishes.

Chris Nagy          1-4-3-1-1-2-1+ns            23

Sam Chapin      ns-2-1-2-2-1-3+1-ns-ns   26

Vince Renzoni  2-5-7-4-4-4-2+3-2-ns       36

Bailey Verkaik +Max Epaillard

420                   3-1-4-3-5-ns-ns+ns           42

Craig Yates       4-3-2-6-8-ns-ns+ns           49

Marc Solal     ns-ns-ns-ns-3-3-nf+2-1-1   50

Claire Epaillard  5-6-5-5-7-ns-ns+ns         54

Daniel Rusin   nf-7-6-7-6-5-ns+ns              56

Daniel was sailing the 4.7 and his first time out with us.  He was ahead of a few people and didn’t take any 8’s.  Good work, Daniel.

Claire was our first woman and sailing the radial.  She is usually one of our better sailors.

Marc is back from business in Europe.  Sunday was his weather and sorry that we had a lousy course that day and that Sam and Vince dropped out and left him sailing alone.  He helped with some of the Saturday work and missed some races then.

Craig was sailing in the top of the fleet.  I think the 8 in the 5th race was due to a capsize and he went in to help get the boats put way by noon.

Bailey and Max did a great job with the 420 and even won the second race on corrected time.

Vince is sailing better every week, but he and Sam need to get smaller sails on when the wind is up.

Sam had some good races and Vince beat him in the last race on Saturday.

Chris Nagy showed us how to do it.  He won the weekend without even coming on Sunday.  Good work Chris.

Sunday, August 4, 2013

Laser finishes for 8-3 and 8-4, 2013

Dave Chapin   2-2-1-1-1+1-1-2-1-2-1     15

Rob Krentel     1-1-2-2-2+2-4-3-2-1-2     22

Sam Chapin     3-3-3-3-4+3-6-5-4-ns-ns  48

Craig Yates                    ns+5-5-1-5-4-5    50

Jerry Beck                     ns+ns-3-4-3-6-3   51

Patrick Daniel                ns+6-2-6-7-3-4    53

Vince Renzoni  4-4-4-4-3+4-7-7-6-5-6     54

Vince had a better day on Sunday with people behind him in most of the races.

Patrick had some bad races for him on Sunday but had a second and third--- not bad.  We had a lot of folks going into the weather mark together and grouped going downwind. That makes the sailing a little different.

Jerry Beck was right with the leaders most of the time.

Craig Yates is our “youth coach” and he showed everyone how to do it in the third race.

Sam managed third place by sailing both days.

Rob was just one point behind David on Saturday but caught behind on Sunday --- still way ahead of the rest of the pack.

David Chapin still continues to sail fast and hit the shifts.  Makes him hard to beat == but he didn’t win all the races.

Sunday, July 21, 2013

Finishes for July 20 and 21, 2013

Laser finishes for July 20 and 21, 2013

David Chapin     ns-1-1-1-1-1-1+1-1       14

Sam Chapin        1-4-3-4-2-3-4+2-2         25

Jerry Beck           3-2-4-2-4-2-3+4-4         25

Patrick Daniel     2-3-6-3-3-4-2+5-3         31

Charlie Jensen     4-5-2-5-6-6-5+ns          43

Vince Renzoni     5-6-5-6-5-5-6+3-5        46

Vince continues to improve.  Look at the close 3rd in the light air race of Sunday.

Charlie Jensen had second place on Saturday when it was windier.  Good work Charles.  Sail with us whenever you have a chance.

Patrick Daniel had two seconds and was always in the hunt.

Jerry Beck scored in second place but Sam had a bullet the race that David missed.  So Jerry got bumped down to third.

The old guy just tried to link patches of wind with the longest legs to get some light air second places.

David managed to win all the ones he sailed in, but didn’t just sail away from everyone. We are doing better.

LESC LASER

Lake Eustis Laser Fleet races July 6 and 7, 2013

Alejandro Illera       2-6-1-2-2-2+2-2-3-3-3-3      32

Rob Krentel              2-6-3-4-4-1+3-3-2-1-2-2     33

Patrick Daniel          4-1-4-3-1-4+4-4-4-4-4-4      41

Dave Chapin                             ns+1-1-1-2-1-1      43

Dave Moring           1-6-2-1-3-3+ns                        52

Vincent Renzoni      6-6-6-5-5-5+5-6-6-5-6-5      65

Craig Yates (420)    5-2-5-6-6-6+ns                        66

Sam Chapin                             ns+6-5-5-6-5-6         68

Sam chickened out after a couple of gusts on Saturday and sailed to tie with Vince on Sunday with a radial sail.

Craig Yates is getting ready for the High School kids to be sailing 420s in the High School circuit.

Vince continues to improve.  Stayed out with full rig on Saturday and then sailed to a tie with Sam with the radials on Sunday.

Dave Moring was up for the Fireworks on Friday and stayed over to show us how to sail a Laser. Won the Saturday races

Dave Chapin let Rob win one race on Sunday.  Thank you, David.

Rob almost won the weekend.  He would have if he hadn’t led most of the fleet around the wrong mark in the second race on Saturday.   That was all the 6’s scored in that race.

Alejandro Illera was back.  He only won one race but beat Rob by one point for the weekend..  That should keep them both coming.

Sunday, June 23, 2013

Laser finishes for June 22 and 23, 2013

Sam Chapin        1-1-2-1-1-1-1-+2-1-2-1        14

Vince Renzoni     3-2-3-2-3-3-2+1-2-1-2       24

Craig Yates           2-3-1-3-2-2-3+ns                28

Rob Krentel was off to Sarasota with Randy Rea.  We expect them back in 2 weeks.

Craig Yates has not sailed with us for a while and was little rusty but was able to win a race.

Vince is sailing better all the time.

Sam is improving after his sore knee and was able to sail both days.

Monday, June 10, 2013

Laser finishes for June 8 and 9, 2013    Corrected time finishes.

Rob Krentel      1-1-1-2-1+1-1-1-1          10

Jerry Beck         3-2-3-3-2+2-2-2-2          21

Vince Renzoni  5-5-5-4-4+4-4-4-3          38

Randy Rea          2-3-2-1-3+ns                   43

Chris Nagy        ns-ns-ns-ns-7+3-3-3-4   52

Sam Chapin     4-4-4-6-6+ns                    56

Patrick Daniel 6-6-6-5-5+ns                    60

Patrick Smith  ns-ns-ns-ns-8+5-5-5-5    60

Richman and Joe also sailed Sunday but did not race.

Candi Robb helped with the RC on Saturday and may sail with us later.

Sally Renzoni held the RC together with Nancy Petty regular Sunday help.

Patrick Smith is a friend of Chris Nagy and we hope he comes again.  We know he can right a capsized Laser.

Patrick Daniel hasn’t sailed with us for a while and is usually in the middle of the fleet.  Need to sail a little more Patrick.

Sam needs to get his knee fixed or he will just be watching.

Chris Nagy sailed a 4.7 on Saturday and a radial on Sunday.  In Sunday’s third race he corrected to third ahead of Vince.  That was the only change with times.  Chris sailed the Radial right up with the full rigs.

Randy Rea was only able to win one race on Saturday!  Wow, our team is getting better.

Jerry was chasing Rob all weekend and was with Rob and Randi at the finishes on Saturday.

Rob Krentel won eight of the nine races.  Wow, how did he do it?  Maybe good starts and sailing fast into the areas of more pressure.

Laser finishes f0r 5-25-13

David Chapin      1-1-2-1-1      6

Chris Nagy          2-2-4-6-5     19

Michael Gapuz   4-4-5-4-4   21

Coach Andrew   ns-3-3-3-3  23

Jerry Beck           ns-ns-1-2-2  25

Leah Harper     3-4-ns-ns-ns   37

Alex Brito          nf-8-6-nf-7      41

Dashiell Dettman  nf-7-nf-nf-6  42

Max Epaillard  ns-ns-5-ns           45

Claire Epaillard  ns-6-ns-ns-ns   46

It was a windy gusty day.  Sam went out and decided it was too exciting for him.  Everybody else stayed out including Nicole and Catlin in the 420.  They didn’t get recorded in any of the races, but sailed the full two hours.

I understand that some people traded boats, but that was not recorded and so I have no comments on places except I think they all did a great job.

Monday, May 20, 2013

Laser finishes for 5/18/13 and 5/19/13

Jerry Beck     5-2-2+1-1-1-4-4-2-2     24

Sam Chapin  2-1-3+2-2-2-2-2-4-4     24

David Chapin ns-sn-1+ns-ns-ns-1-1-1-1  34

Vince Renzoni 6-6-4+3-3-3-3-3-3-3      37

Claire Epaillard             1-3-nf+ns                          46

Michael Gapuz  3-4-5 +ns                        47

Leah Hooper   4-5-6+ns                           50

Leah was right behind Michael in the three races on Saturday.  Really not bad.  It was a crazy light day.

Michael really had one of his best days.  Better all the time.

Claire won that first race and was right up with the leaders in the second.  She was sailing a full rig.  All the youth were.

Vince is doing better and better.  The windy Sunday and all thirds.  He beat Jerry twice and Sam twice.

David has a hard time getting here on time.  But managed all firsts.

Sam was close to winning the weekend.  To bad old man.

Jerry won the tie for first place on the basis of all the first places.

Monday, March 25, 2013

Laser finishes for Saturday, March 23, 2013  … None for Sunday = races canceled for too much wind.

Finishes include three 420s which we usually score separately, but Luke Yates sailed his 420 so well I have included them all with the corrected times.

David Chapin    2-1-1-3-1      8

Rob Krentel       3-2-2-4-2      13

Sam Chapin       5-4-4-2-3       18

Luke Yates  420  1-3-3-1-nf   22

Patrick Daniel    6-8-7-5-6       32

Dave Smith        8-6-7-5-6       36

Vince Renzoni   12-9-6-6-4      37

Tom Jennings   10-10-9-8-5    42

Bailey Verkaik 420 4-5-10-ns-ns   47

Chris Nagy       ns-7-11-10-8     50

Nicole/Catlin 420 7-12-5-ns-ns  52

Michael Gapuz   9-13-13-9-9      53

Claire Epaillard  11-11-12-ns-ns  63

Claire is our woman champion.  The only reason she is last, is missing the last two races to be done by noon.

Michael hung in there and is better and better.

Nicole in the 420 jumped a whole bunch of places with the time correction in the third race.

Chris Nagy suffered from not being in the first race for some reason. The 7 and 8s are not bad in that group.

Bailey sailing the 420 was up with the Lasers in 4th and 5th.

Tom Jennings has been one of the faithful during the winter season.  In the most races sailed in February and March category he was second.  His plans are sending him back to Indiana early in April.  He will be missed.

Vince Renzoni moves up the ladder.  He is our iron man with most races sailed in February and March.

Dave Smith is probably not really a Smith.  He is a friend of Patrick’s and was sailing Patrick boat while Patrick sailed one of the Youth Foundation.

Patrick Daniel is back after a long time sailing his big boat. He was the fourth Laser and pushing at the top.

Luke Yates was the first 420 and fourth boat overall.  He went in after the fourth race and it we only scored the first four races he would be in second place.

Sam did pretty well for an old guy.  Managed to win the fourth race except Luke beat him out on time in that race.

Rob continues our overall leader but couldn’t pull off any first place for the day.

Dave Chapin came over because the wind was up and we hoped that Randy Rae would show to add the mix at the top.  We are always glad to see David sail with us.

Monday, March 11, 2013

Laser finishes for March 9 and 10, 2013

Sam Chapin        2-4-4-2-1+2-1-1-1    =18

Tom Jennings     3-6-2-6-2+1-2-2-2     = 26

Michael Gapuz  7-7-8-5-4+ns              =47

Nicole/Katlin

420                       8-8-7-4-ns+ns           =48

Finishes are by corrected times with Claire and Michael sailing radials.

Nicole and Katlin in the 420 struggled without a spinnaker pole but hung in there for all the races on Saturday.

Michael Gapuz is sailing better every week and the higher winds don’t seem to bother him.

Claire is sailing with us again and has moved up to the radial.  At the moment our only woman.

Bailey sailing the 420 moved up a lot on the time corrections.   He was always pushing the faster boats ahead.  He managed one second place on time correction.

Vince Renzoni is sailing better and better.  On Saturday he placed ahead of Tom.

Dave Chapin came by on Saturday to show us how to do it, but missed the higher wind of Sunday.

Tom Jennings was second for the weekend. He won the first race on Sunday.  Tom will probably be going back North in April and we will miss him.

Sam Chapin was glad to be able to handle the winds on Sunday and not to fall out of the boat until the on the way back to shore.

Sunday, February 24, 2013

Todd has been sailing Sunfish and this was his first time in Laser.  He had some really light wind and then some times when it was really fun to sail the boat.

Vince is sailing better. He and Marc are often right together.

Sam skipped Saturday to rest the skin surgery on his back, but it was fine by Sunday.  Lucky to win two races.

Dave checked the weather on Sunday and decided to stay home and get Caroline off to college.  Don’t trust the forecast.  Come down to the lake and see what we have.

Marc is our heavy weight big wind sailor who won that light air race on Sunday.  Wow!

Rob continues to score way ahead.  Our leader, but then he only won  three out of the ten races.  Hey, Rob do you need some more practice?
